All mechanical equipments deteriorate with use over time, whether in the workplace or at home. The deterioration presents more exposure to potentially damaged or defective equipment, which will be dangerous. It is advised to regularly examine power cords and plugs before using them to avoid unwanted power failure. Generally we use extension cords to extend a power supply, however they can be dangerous if not applied properly. Before making sure the plug is securely attached to cable, check the cord and plug whether they are damaged, crack, or loose. Make sure there are no indications of overheating or burning, especially on the plug. If you are not sure of the situation, notify your supervisor or technician immediately. Prevent anybody to touch or handle damaged electrical equipment before technician arrived.
